In episode 11 of Firewire’s Single Sessions, Kevin Schulz tests two stock 5’4″ Helium-construction small-wave boards at Lowers in San Clemente: Dan Mann’s Spun Honey and the Mashup, a Rob Machado and Dan Mann collaboration. His verdict is that both work in weak summer surf. The Spun Honey is the easier, flowing board that holds speed, while the Mashup is quicker off the lip and better for higher-performance small-wave surfing.
