A lot of what tastes best after a surf starts long before the kitchen, in the soil. Real Food Real Farmers will tell the stories of growers, ranchers and fishers who are rethinking how food is raised, including farmers using regenerative practices such as cover crops, less tillage, rotational grazing and composting to build healthier soil.
It’s a growing field with real enthusiasm and real open questions. Researchers are still studying how much these practices improve soil, yields and the climate in different places, and farmers weigh them against costs and local conditions. We’ll keep it about people and practices, report what the evidence shows, and link our sources, so you can make up your own mind.
