The story
BeefMaps.com is an interactive map that helps you find independent American ranchers who sell beef, custom cuts and other products straight from the farm, bypassing the big meatpackers. Ranches are reviewed before they appear; BeefMaps calls them "Rancher Direct Certified," meaning they sell direct, show how their cattle are raised and hide nothing about where the beef comes from.
You can zoom into your area, filter by breed, grazing practice and shipping, then visit the ranch's own website, message the rancher, or buy through the BeefMaps shop. The shop lists products from independent ranches such as Ebersole Ranch (Kellerton, Iowa), Shepherd's Bounty (Hot Springs, Virginia) and Miller Bison (Eureka, Nevada), each shown with the farm that raised it. The Working Cows podcast talked with RS June and Shanen Ebersole about how BeefMaps connects ranchers directly with beef buyers.
